Markets for collective decisions

Currently, we dont have access to the Market where political decisions are taken. They are very abstract and remote. We vote once in a few years, and we exercise a choice but nothing more. This market exists in different forms though:

  • The lobbying industry in the US is a market of Money and Congressional votes.
  • Parties play this game of buying MPs and MLAs with money in India

To create a market where influence in collective decisions can be exchanged for votes, we have to give every individual the ability to exchange more votes for more influence in decisions they care about. We also should allow individuals to not pay votes for decisions they dont care for.

This will allow for price discovery in the market too. Since decisions which more people care about will require more votes to pass - for or against.
