Hyperbolic discounting

Hyperbolic discounting is one of the Biases due to which people seem to prefer immediate payoffs to more later payoffs. This leads to choices that are inconsistent overtime. For example, when choosing what to eat for the next week, people might choose fruit while they might choose chocolate for immediate eating.
